Onesies

I made cookie favors for the double baby shower as well as putting some cookies on a platter. I wanted the shower guests to be able to eat cookies at the shower and take cookies home.

Pitter Patter of Little Feet

The day before I made these cookies, I was helping in the church nursery. Once a month, Chris and I help with the toddlers (ie very busy rough little boys). One this particular day I lucked out and got to hold one of the newborns, Baby Evelyn. Evelyn's brother Nate (Chris' lovingly refers to him as the nursery bruiser) is one of our regulars and he's quite a character. Nate's about 2 and uses sounds instead of words when he talks, for example "choo choo" instead of train. Anyway back to the bright and shiny newborn, I rocked Evelyn while Nate tried to climb on my lap. This little baby girl is going to have to toughen up quick to keep up with her big brother. She had the tiniest pink feet and they inspired these baby feet cookies.

Baby Fever

There must be something in the water because 3 of the 5 girls on my husband's side of the family are pregnant. Last weekend we had a double baby shower for 2 of Chris' cousins. Later, this summer we'll have a shower for my sister-in-law.

One of Chris' cousins is expecting a baby boy and the other cousin wanted to be surprised. So these baby cookies were a mix of blue, yellow, green and purple colors.

More Penguin Poses

These are the same penguin cookies, but we were trying to be creative about staging them.

This silver platter was a gift from our wedding. It's from Wendell August, a store that makes amazing handcrafted metal gifts.

The groom taking his role as cake tester very seriously.

The bride wondering how she's going to fit into that tiny gown. Might have to hit the penguin gym a little harder.

It's a Penguin Wedding

Every Sunday and Wednesday, I tutor a high school freshman named Krysta. It's always an interesting few hours listening to her thoughts on life, Justin Beiber, stories about the high school musical, track practice, and more Justin Beiber while we're working on her geometry and chemistry...Oh to be young again.

Every so often, I'll bring Krysta and her family a few cookies. The cookies have been very well received. About a month ago, Krysta's dad inquired about me making penguins cookies. Krysta's stepmom was planning a bridal shower and apparently the bride-to-be loves penguins, specifically blue penguins. I'll be making 10 dozen wedding penguins this week. These were my practice cookies from a few weeks ago. The penguin cookie cutters were from Copper Gifts and Wilton's tub of 50 animal cutters.

Black Sheep of the Family

A few weeks ago I had grand plans to send a bunch of sheep cookies to my Great Aunt Nan and her family who raise sheep. Unfortunately little things like my chemical engineering master's research thesis, a trip to Wisconsin and a double baby shower got in the way.

BUT I have lots of free time now, that is in between job searching. So sheep cookies are on the top of my list of future cookies. These cookies were practice cookies I made before Easter. Pam of Cookie Crazie (blogger is being difficult and I can't post her link, but her blog is my list of favorite blogs) made the most adorable sheep cookies around Easter. She even has a tutorial on how to make little lamb faces. Go check them out!

Chick Eggs

Last of the Easter pictures. I'm a sucker for those eggs with the little feet.
