There's something about mini Santas that is so appealing.

Mmmmmm... Peppermint
Sure Peanut M&Ms are great and I wouldn't turn them away, but my all time favorite candy is peppermint. Peppermints, candy canes... I love them all. I have the cavities to prove it. Not sure if my dentist would be very happy to read this blog post. Or maybe he would being that all my cavities provide him job security.

Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Beach
If you're anything like me then you feel like you need a vacation after Christmas. I can only imagine how Santa and his lovely wife feel. I bet on December 26, they catch the first plane to Aruba. Once there they spend the rest of the winter lounging on the beach, swimming in the ocean and heated hotel pool, catching up on all the books they haven't had time to read, parasailing, snorkling, kayating.....
Don't forget the sunscreen Santa!

Redstone Christmas Part 3
Redstone Christmas Part 2
The second set Carly and Leigh ordered was for their Dietary Department. I had a great time decorating this set. The chefs hat and apron cookies were hand cut. The rolling pin was actually made from a hot dog cutter. Hopefully it doesn't look too much like a weiner. I wrote rolling pin on it in case there was any question. The silver square cookie was supposed to be a cookie sheet. Again I wrote cookie sheet on the cookie in case there was any question. The mini tree and snowman are supposed to be cookies. Well obviously they're cookies, but they're supposed to represent cookies baked on the cookie sheet. The measuring cup was actually made from a tea cup cutter.

Christmas at Redstone Part 1
I usually need to muster up a lot of creativity when Carly and Leigh from Redstone Senior Community place an order. A few weeks before Christmas, they requested I make cookies for their Maintenance and Housekeeping Departments. They asked that the cookies have a Christmas theme, but be cookies specific to each department, for example tools for the Maintenance Department.
The Maintenance cookies were easy. However there was a little head scratching involved in figuring out what to make for Housekeeping. The broom is typically reserved for Halloween, but I thought it might work especially with plaid and polka handles. The gingerbread house and shirt were last minute additions.
